Q: When is the Lottery?
A: The 2025-26 Enrollment Lottery will be held January 22, 2025
Q: How is the lottery conducted?
Kindergarten and grade level offers are made based on enrollment priorities approved by the LTS board (LTS Sibling, LTS Staff, etc), which may include a lottery. All applications submitted during the open enrollment period will be added to the lottery, with any priorities taken into account.
Q: If my child is enrolled, will his/her siblings also be able to attend that school?
A: Legacy – Texas offers application priority status for siblings of students currently enrolled at a Legacy – Texas school. A student is considered fully enrolled when s/he has accepted an offer of enrollment, and completed and submitted all required registration paperwork. Once a student is enrolled at Legacy, any sibling on a waitlist will be moved up the waitlist along with other applications with priority status. Sibling priority does NOT guarantee enrollment, but does significantly improve the likelihood of enrollment.
Q: How am I notified of Lottery results?
A: On the day of the Lottery, families with an offer from a Legacy – Texas campus will receive a notification of their status via the preferred method of communication indicated on their application (email and/or text). All families will also be able to see their offer status by logging into Schoolmint after the Lottery has finished.
An initial round of offers will be sent on Lottery day, but offers will continue being sent if seats become available. Families will also receive a follow-up call from their campus within a few days of receiving an offer.
Q: How do I accept my offer?
A: In your notification email/text, you will be linked to your Schoolmint account to accept or decline your offer. After you accept your offer, your new school will contact you for the following required supporting documentation for enrollment:
Q: If my child is accepted, will he/she have to participate in the Lottery each year?
A: No, students who are accepted through the Lottery and complete the registration process will be enrolled in the school and be able to remain there in future years up until graduation. Parents must let the school know that they plan to return each year during a re-enrollment process that happens outside of the Lottery.
A: Legacy Traditional Schools are public and tuition-free. There is no tuition required at any of our school locations. Full-day kindergarten is offered at each Texas location with no fee or tuition.
Waitlist Frequently Asked Questions
Q: If my child is not chosen during the Lottery and is placed on the waitlist, what are the chances that they will be accepted later?
A: If a student is not admitted immediately during the Lottery, they are automatically placed on the waitlist. Throughout the spring and summer months, spots may become available. Enrollment is offered to the next student on the waitlist as soon as space becomes available. For example, if a parent declines an enrollment offer, we move to the next student on the waitlist until the position is filled.
Q: Why did my waitlist number change?
Waitlists are ordered based on application type and any applicable priority status (e.g., sibling or transfer priority). When a seat becomes available it is offered to the first applicant on the waitlist. Applicants may move up or down the waitlist depending on application priority and/or application type.
Families with children on a waitlist during the current school year must reapply for the upcoming school year during the Open Enrollment Period. Current waitlist numbers are applicable only for the current school year.
